The Kasanggayahan Festival 2013 kicked off this year with the
re-enactment of the First Holy Mass in Luzon in 1569. The presentation was
highlighted by the so called “HIGANTES”
to emphasize what had transpired in that religious event at Sitio
Gibalong,Brgy. Siuton, Magallanes, Sorsogon.The activity was attended by a lot
of expectancies together with the Provincial Government officials headed by
Gov. Raul R. Lee.According to organizers, they decided to open the celebration
this year with the new concept to immediately bring the main reason why we are
celebrating Kasanggayahan festival.
Previously, the highlight of the Kasanggayahan was Pantomina sa Tinampo but then there was a realization that Pantomina is not fully owned by Sorsoganons . Slowly, Pantomina sa Tinampo is being changed to First Mass in Luzon as the highlight of Kasanggayahn Festival. It was noticed that Pantomina sa tinampo is now done in the 2nd day of the celebration with minimal emphasis and participation.
